Basic Controls

Tip: Only applies to Multi-Stop. Straight Line uses Haversine (geometric distance), Real Road uses AWS Route Matrix + 2-opt swap.

Direct path between exactly 2 locations. Auto-enabled when you have 2 markers.
Auto-enabled with 3+ markers. Uses 2-opt optimization to find a near-optimal route order, then shows you both the fastest version and your input order so you can compare.
4. Route Customization
Avoid tolls, ferries, or highways. Badge shows how many you have active.
Plan ahead — set when you'll start. Duration adjusts based on historical traffic patterns by time-of-day (e.g. rush hour 17:00 is slower than 14:00). Note: AWS does not provide live real-time traffic in this region.
Toggle between kilometers and miles. Choice persists across visits.
Quick reverse the marker list — useful for "return trip" testing.
5. Route Results
Shows what time you'll arrive based on now (or your set departure time) + total duration.
When AWS returns toll cost data, it's shown (IDR / local currency). Note: in ap-southeast-1 AWS rarely populates this field, so it usually stays hidden.
Lists main roads the route uses. Note: AWS doesn't populate this field in ap-southeast-1 currently, so this row is usually hidden.
A→B returns up to 3 alternatives. Switch via the Route Options pills — Fastest is marked Recommended.
6. Navigation
After calculating, expand Turn-by-turn Directions to see every maneuver: turn left/right, merge, roundabout, etc. — each with distance & duration. Localized to your language.
7. Map Tools
Fly the map to your current GPS position. Requires browser location permission.
Switch between Standard / Monochrome styles and Light / Dark color schemes. Routes stay drawn during style swap.
Toggle mode then click anywhere on the map to copy lat/lng or open in Google Maps — without adding a marker.
8. Extra Tips
After a multi-stop calculation, switch between Fastest Route and Input Order with one click — no recompute needed.
Click any segment card in the Route Details panel to zoom & highlight that specific leg on the map.
Click a location row in the list to open AWS Places v2 details: categories, contacts, opening hours, and more.
